Financial Aspects PDF Print
The following information is intended to outline the basic financial conditions for living in Germany and especially for living in the city of Munich.

ImageThe Technische Universität München is a public university. Due to the amendment of “Bayerisches Hochschulgesetz“ (BayHSchG) of May 18th, 2006 (coming into effect June 1st, 2006) tuition will be charged in Bavaria starting in the summer semester of 2007. Tuition at Technische Universität München will amount 500 € per semester for all courses of study. The present term fee, consisting of the contribution to the student union and the contribution to administration costs (approx. € 75 – 100 per semester) will have to be paid in addition to tuition

Living expenses including rent for an apartment amount to approx. € 600 per month. The Studentenwerk München offers an excellent service package for foreign students, which includes a furnished room in a student housing complex, reduced fees for German language programs during the semester (beginners and advanced), and social and cultural events. See Housing and Living for details.
